An elegant yet well-constituted wine of great depth. It is primarily composed of Grenache and Mourvèdre but its special character reflects the presence of a mélange of other grape varieties, albeit in small proportion, including Cinsault, Syrah, Carignan, Cabernet Sauvignon, Castet, Manosquin, Théoulier, Tibouren, Picpoul Noir and Muscat de Hambourg. Pockets of these old-growth vines season the vineyards and add to the stunning complexity of this wine.

Cade Cabernet Sauvignon, Howell Mountain, California  -----  $25 / 3 oz.

This wine has aromas of red cherries, strawberry, brambles, and rose petals. Full bodied with solid structure and tannin. Cade finishes with flavors of cranberry, strawberry jam, allspice, vanilla, clove, cocoa powder, toasted almonds, and chocolate wafers. A definite treat for anyone who loves a big bold finish.

Gaja Sito Moresco, Langhe, Italy 2010  -----  $25 / 3 oz.

Gaja created this cuvée of Nebbiolo, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon to deliver greater approachability in its youth. In this balanced blend, the powerful tannic structure of the Nebbiolo is balanced by the supple roundness of the Merlot and the elegance of the Cabernet Sauvignon. A fruity, elegant taste; good balance in the mouth and a fresh fruity finish with very fine, silky tannins.

The 2010 Perfect Season Cabernet Sauvignon is a rich ruby color. The aromas include dark red and black fruits, cassis, lavender, hard spices, fresh moist pipe tobacco and fragrant vanilla. These flavors follow through on the palate where dark red fruits dominate and are woven together in a wine of well-managed and integrated tannins. The 2010 closes with a rewarding and lingering finish.

Irresistible vanilla and intriguing black cherry lay way to the rich, supple wine that is the Cabernet Sauvignon. Wisps of tobacco smoke linger on the palate, reminiscent of grandfather's old pipe. Cinnamon, clove and nutmeg are left by the 14 months of aging in American oak. Ample tannins and an enduring finish.
