  3. Thank you Ed! The Koonce Family tells us that they are getting the best medical treatment, please continue to keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

I am sorry this response took a few days, I was just trained on how to post & reply to comments, so look forward to more updates and posts each week!

  4. Hi- I am James’ sister, and I just returned from visiting with him. He is doing well and getting better everyday. Katharine is still in Sacramento and she too is doing well. They both have upcoming surgeries and still need your prayers. I personally would like to thank everyone for their thoughts, prayers and everything that is being done to help James, Katharine and Denise. Thank you and God Bless.

  5. Thank you to everyone who is contributing! My daughter goes to school with Katharine, and we are all praying for the family! Please keep the contributions coming!

  6. My Name is Roxanne & I am James sister & aunt to Katharine. I wanted to take the time out to thank each and everyone of you for all of your help and support for James & Katharine. Your thoughts and prayers mean so much to their family & to ours as well.

  7. I have had James and Katherine in my prayers since that fateful night. I live a few blocks away and watched the smoke and flames from afar. I wish to do more. How can I help? I am raising money both on a personal level and business level and will donate before Christmas. I am also a victim of burns from a few years back and know what each of them must be going through. My heart is with them.

  8. just an update-james and katharine are both doing well. i saw katharine yesterday and all things considered she was a normal 4 year old watching “Tinkerbell”. her room is bright and cheerful with all of the out pouring of love with cards and stuffed animals. it was really nice to see her smile. she still has alot of healing left to do but she is progressing well. denise is also doing fine considering. i saw james on tuesday and he is doing excellent. as a matter of fact he was released from the hospital today. since he has to return regularly to the hospital for therapy and treatment he will be staying close to the hospital. but he also is doing really well. thanks again for the overwhelming response to help james, katharine and denise. god bless

  9. Brenda, thanks for the update and glad to hear both James and Katherine are progressing. I have raised $400 and expect another $1,000 by next month. I know this is not much but I would like to help in any way I can. Do you know if the Koonce’s need assistance in any way besides financial (home care, rides to hospital, someone to visit, food, etc.?) I am still keeping both in my prayers, however.

  10. Roger, I am also James sister and although I have not been able to see him or Katharine in the last few weeks, I know they are both doing a lot better. Both are terribly ready to be home, and hopefully that will happen with in the next month or so. This is our hope & prayer.
I will pass on your message and see if there is anything either of them need help with and get back to you on this. Your thoughts, prayers and contributions to them are tremendously appreciated. Thank you Roxy

  11. Thank you Roger for all that you have done. At this time James is still in San Antonio staying close to the hospital and doctors. I spoke with him today and he was in good spirits and progressing as best as can be expected. Katharine is also progressing well. Latest word is she might be released in a month or so, depending on therapy progression and healing. Right now, their needs are being met as far as my knowledge, but when they are both able to return home, houston, that may be a different story. Prayers for a speedy recovery and to have the 3 of them, james, katharine and denise, reunited and back in familiar surroundings is our biggest hope. I will keep up on the posts to let everyone know how things are and any further help that can be done. Once again, thank you and everyone else that has devoted their time to help them.

  12. Nice post u have here :D Added to my RSS reader

  13. Thank you Brenda and Roxanne for the updates. It sounds like both James and Katharine are making progress…one day at a time. Please offer them the prayers and best wishes from my family, my extended work family, and others who have contributed. I know it is not about money but about sharing love, especially during the Holiday Season. I will check back from time to time to see how each is doing. I appreciate the occasional updates. God bless!

  14. HOORAY!!!! HOORAY!!!! HOORAY!!!!! I’m sure most Houstonian’s saw on KHOU-11 on Wednesday that James has returned home and Katharine and Denise will be home on Friday. This is a joyous time for all of them. They are healing well, but it is still a long process. Continued prayers are needed for the family. And as soon as things settle down, I expect everyone will hear from James. He is heartfully overwhemled and touched by the outpouring of love, wishes and prayers that this tragic event has brought. From his brothers, sisters and mother, we would like to give a big THANKS to everyone who has held them in their thoughts and prayers. Personally, I would like to say to James, I am so proud to be your little sister. You are truly a HERO, not only to Denise and Katharine, but to me as well. And to so many others that you have touched. WELCOME HOME!!!!! WE LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!!!!

  15. DITTO to everything my sister Brenda just posted about James, Katharine & Denise. We are all so thankful for everything each & everyone of you have done for this family. As you all know they are very close and being apart has been really hard on them all, but the reunion they are about to have will be cherished for the rest of their lives. I wish I could be there to witness this JOYOUS reunion, but we are going to give them time to be together before we all barge in. lol.
JAMES, as brenda said you are truly a hero in all of our eyes and I love you very very much. Katharine, you are a beautiful little girl and your aunt Roxanne is so proud of you. I cant wait to give you a big hug & kiss. Last but not least to Denise. Your truly an amazing woman. I can only hope that I will posses some of the traits that you have. Your courage is truly amazing and WE are all so thankful for how good you take care of my big brother & niece. I wish nothing but the best for you and your family, and I know God has some really good things in store for you all. I love you James, Denise and Katharine..
