Brennan's of Houston Seizes Summer with New Culinary Celebrations in July

WHAT: This month, Brennan’s of Houston launches a slew of new culinary events to celebrate the summer season, including the Creole Afternoon Tea & Trunk Show (Saturday, July 19), family-style Fried Chicken Dinners (Thursdays), and Ex-CRAB-Aganza crab-centric prix-fixe (Fridays). Creole Afternoon Tea & Trunk Show – Saturday, July 19
On Saturday, July 19 from 1:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m., Brennan’s of Houston presents an afternoon of tea and shopping ($45* for adults; $55* with sparkling selection, $25* for children 12 and under). The trunk show will begin at 1:30 p.m., featuring various vendors from women and children’s clothing, jewelry, and pottery. Executive Chef Danny Trace will prepare Texas Creole-inspired afternoon tea selections including:

Tea Sandwiches:
o Blue Crab Ravigote on Fried Green Tomato
o NOLA Rum-Cured Salmon and Caviar Club
o Smoked Chicken & Apple Sandwich with sunny side up quail egg
o Cucumber & Heirloom Tomato "BLT"
o Janice's Pimiento Cheese on Chicory Coffee Bread
Scones:
o Creole Sardou Scone
o Jalapeño Cornbread Madeleines

o Served with Creole Cream Cheese Whip, Texas Farmer's Fruit Jams & Jellies, and Labelle Ranch Honey

Fried Chicken Thursdays – Thursday, July 7, 14, 21, and 28 (5:45 p.m. – 10 p.m.)
Back by popular demand, Brennan’s of Houston offers its family-style Fried Chicken Dinners every Thursday in July ($45* per person; 4 guest minimum, 12 guest maximum). Chef Trace will serve Buttermilk Fried Texas Chicken with all the fixin’s, including Bacon Braised Collard Greens, Summer Corn Maque Choux, Chicken & Cognac Giblet Gravy, Lexy's Creole Pickles, and Cast Iron Jalapeño Cornbread & Labelle Ranch Honey. For dessert, indulge in the Moorhead Farm Blueberry Cobbler.

Ex-CRAB-Aganza Fridays – Friday, July 8, 15, 22, and 29 (5:45 p.m. – 10 p.m.)
Every Friday evening in July, Chef Trace will serve a five-course crab-centric tasting menu ($65*) to showcase the crustaceans during peak season. Dishes include:

 Louisiana Blue Crab Bisque – charred tomatoes, saffron, deviled crab boulette and marinated claws
 Crispy Des Allemandes Softshell Crab – Covey Rise heirloom tomatoes, cucumber ribbons, petite greens and pickled okra tartare
 Brennan's Blue Crab Cake – Texas creamed corn, chayote squash and moonflower sprouts
 Blue Crab Fondue – St. Andre cheese and French bread croustade
 Crepe Suzette Soufflé
