Wille's Famous Peach Cobbler

Willie’s Famous Peach Cobbler

I love walking through the produce isle at H-E-B this time of year.  The Texas peaches are front and center, and the beautiful aromas inspire some great dishes.  A recent visit to Willie’s Grill and Icehouse prompted this post.   Next time you’re there, save room for their homemade peach cobbler.  It is delicious!  We were able to talk them into sharing the recipe with our viewers on Goodtaste.tv just in time for the holiday weekend.

We’re celebrating our 5th year of Goodtaste.tv, and we’ve got some other stellar stand-outs for peach lovers.   We’ll start with a salad, but not just any salad.  This delightful creation comes from Brennan’s…something you’ve probably seen on their menu–The Texas Peach Salad.  It’s a beautiful plate of mixed greens, toasty Texas pecans, goat cheese and a tasty Bulleit Bourbon vinaigrette.  Sliced peaches add the finishing touch.

Another light, healthy dish with local peaches is this Texas Peach Ceviche…super simple to prepare and perfect as a starter or even a meal.  This recipe comes from by friends over at H-E-B’s Cooking Connections.

The Texas Hill Country is chockfull of great peach recipes.  If you’ve never visited an orchard to pick your own, you’re missing out on a fun outing for your whole family.  This Honey Lavender Peach Crisp comes from the charming Cabernet Grill in Fredericksburg.
